Hi! I'm Gustavo, an IT enthusiast which works full time as a Data Engineer/Architect.

I typically fulfill the roles of Lead Data Engineer and Data Architect with a strong focus on growing my team through technical challenges, training sessions, presentations and mentoring.

I have switched between technical and business roles, giving me a broad vision of a company needs.

    KBC – Leuven, Belgium

    • Lead Data Engineer in a blockchain project for more than 1.8 million clients Kate Coin.
    • Build data pipelines, and monitor in Acceptance and Production processing more than 60 Terabytes daily.
    • Train and help junior engineers and analysts, reviewing code, teaching best practices in the development, documentation, and deployment.
    • Support the implementation of a Data Governance and the evolution towards a "Data Driven Culture"

    Key Achievement: Rework the most important pipelines in Kate that receive over 10 Terabytes daily, and improved readability but drying the code in more than 80% and increasing processing speed by over 120%

    Business Intelligence Analyst, 03/2020 to 06/2021

    Louis Delhaize – Brussels, Belgium

    • Develop Power BI intelligence-sharing dashboards, providing company-wide access to collected data
    • Synthesize current business intelligence data to produce reports and polished presentations, highlighting findings, and recommending changes
    • Draft strategic business intelligence roadmap, complete with data governance policies and tactical information safeguards
    • Map current business and operational processes and recommended areas for improvement

    Key Achievement: Based on predictive analyses and customer segmentation, made a study allowing the company to change more than 1000 products in the stores increasing the profit margin by 11%.

    • Create Python pipelines to automate invoices verification
